RENEWAL

The redefinition of the logo and the entire visual identity of Renovóleo was the purpose of the final course work at the Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo. The proposal chosen by the group involved a way in which graphic design could contribute as a tool to raise awareness among residents of the city of São Paulo about the impacts of the environment and how small habits make a difference.

Renovóleo is one of the economic activities of Renovatio, which is an NGO in which it has 3 pillars:

the sustainable, the social and the economic, that is, it cannot live on donations, it must generate its own support.

At Renovóleo, these three pillars are applied. The sustainable pillar, because the project prevents the oil from being improperly disposed of, clogging the building's pipes and polluting the environment.

The economic pillar, because the oil is collected, stored in a gallon, and then sold to a company that transforms this oil into biofuel, and from this amount received, it pays employees,

who are the beneficiaries of the NGO.

And this is the social pillar: the NGO hires former homeless people, who live in a shelter in the region, to inspect and collect the oils from the collection points, and take them to storage, which is close to the place. He has a route a day to check the amount of oil collected from the buildings, and when they are full, he transports the oil on a bicycle with a trailer behind it and puts an empty one in its place.

The logo redefinition and the whole visual identity of Renovóleo was the purpose of our final project of the University Center of Fine Arts of São Paulo. The project shows a way how graphic design can contribute as a tool to create awareness among the residents of the city of São Paulo about the impacts of the environment and how difference can be made by changing small habits.

Renovation is one of Renovatio's economic activities, which is a NGO supported by 3 pillars: sustainable, social and economic, which means it can't be supported by donations, it must produce its own maintenance.
These 3 pillars are applied in Renewal as well. The sustainable pillar avoids the kitchen oil to be incorrectly discarded, clogging the residence's plumbing and polluting the environment. The economic pillar collects the oil and stocks it in a gallon and then sells it to a company that transforms it in biofuel and with this
income pays its employees. And this is the social pillar: the NGO hires homeless people living in a shelter nearby

to supervise and collect the oil at the collecting centers and transport it to a storage nearby.
Their daily route includes checking the quantity of oil bottles from the buildings and transporting

them in a bicycle with a cart attached to it.

The logo was built thinking about providing a visual sensation of balance and harmony, having organic and light forms. Letters written in yellow are slightly thicker than the others. The size of the symbol must always be proportional to the rest of the logo, obtaining the distance of one stem from the gray letters starting from themselves. And finish aligned with the L.
